American Airlines and Japan Airlines link electronic ticketing

American Airlines and Japan Airlines have linked their electronic ticketing systems.

The linking means that travellers will be able to use one single e-ticket when travelling with both airlines. According to American Airlines, which has similar agreements with other airlines, the agreements make flight changes and refunds easier to carry out and the e-tickets cannot be lost or stolen.

American Airlines can reportedly offer interline e-ticketing with 23 airlines, including Alaska Airlines, America West Airlines, American Trans Air, Aloha Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways, as well as AeroMexico, Mexicana Airlines, KLM and Copa Airlines, and all seven of its oneworld Alliance partners: Aer Lingus, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, LanChile and Qantas.
