Cracked windshield forces Scandinavian Airlines passenger jet to turn back

A Scandinavian Airlines flight was forced to return to Stockholm's Arlanda airport soon after takeoff on Friday (11 March) after the pilot noticed a crack in the cockpit windshield.

The Boeing 737, carrying 117 passengers on a flight to Paris, took off at 1355 local time and was in the air for about 25 minutes. Even though the windshield was not in danger of breaking, the pilot decided to return to Stockholm. The aircraft landed safely and there were no injuries, airport officials said.

The cause of the crack is so far unknown, reported The Associated Press.
