Boeing wins 737-800 orders from Alaska Airlines and Air Europa

Alaska Airlines has placed a firm order with US aircraft manufacturer Boeing for 35 Next-Generation 737-800 passenger aircraft.
The carrier also took options to buy a further 15 737-800s and acquired purchase rights for another 50. The firm order has been valued at USD2.3bn at list prices, but airlines usually negotiate discounts and the financial terms have not been disclosed.
Boeing has also reached an agreement with Air Europa for the purchase of up to 30 Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft. The Spanish carrier is to place a firm order for 18 of the aircraft and take options on an additional 12.
