Malaysia Airlines will place armed security guards on some flights to the US following a directive from the Malaysian government.
The government directed the carrier to comply with a US requirement which orders armed law enforcement officers to be placed on board international flights in US airspace.
Air marshals will not travel on all of the carrier's flights to the US, only those that US authorities say raise security concerns, The Associated Press reported.
