Air Europa considers new aircraft purchases

Air Europa, a Spanish carrier, is reportedly considering the purchase of new aircraft valued at about USD269m.

The carrier will buy either ATR regional aircraft made by EADS in partnership with Finmeccanica of Italy, or regional aircraft made by Canada's Bombardier Inc according to Reuters.

A spokesperson for the carrier has stated that a decision about replacing 12 ATP aircraft currently leased from BAE Systems will be made "in the next few months."
