-KLM airline and maintenance arms join to form commercial aircraft pneumatic component repair company - Brief Article

A new joint venture called European Pneumatic Component Overhaul and Repair BV has been formed by KLM Rotal Dutch Airlines's KLM Engineering & Maintenance unit and United Technologies Corp's Hamilton Sundstrand unit. KLM holds a 49% stake in the venture and United Technologies Corp hold the remainder. The new venture will repair and overhaul commercial aircraft pneumatic components in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with a facility to be constructed in Schiphol-Rijk, the Netherlands. Operations will commence on 1 April 2000.
