Blackhawk hydrastorm force 5
Guns Magazine, Sept, 2004 by Glenn Barnes
I'll admit to being somewhat of a pack freak. The closet in my war room, my wife refers to my haven as "the cave", is stuffed with assorted packs of every shape and color imaginable. Always searching for an excuse to buy another one. I recently decided a pack large enough to hold a three days supply of vittles and such was needed to compliment my one, two, four, five and two week-sized packs. Honest.
Much of the fun associated with purchasing a new pack is the days of "window shopping" involved, but when I glanced through Blackhawk Industries' newest catalog, I discovered exactly what was needed in less than five minutes. So much for my little shopping extravaganza.
Blackhawk is an established leader, supplying the military and law enforcement communities with ruggedly innovative, top quality tactical gear, along with a host of equally impressive accessories. Run of the mill outdoorsmen like myself find their products pretty good too.
Such is the case with Blackhawk's Hydrastorm Force 5 pack system. This extremely durable pack offers the serious outback lover 2,240 cubic inches of storage space, a comfortable IVS back panel, contoured shoulder straps, a fully padded removable waist strap and sturdy accessory/sleeping bag straps. That's not all, the Force 5 also employs a heavy duty drag handle on top, super-tough # 9 YKK zippers, a fully adjustable sternum strap and a tube routing system for the 100 ounce Hydrastorm--included with the pack. As if this isn't impressive enough, the Blackhawk Hydrastorm Force 5 is available in black, olive, desert camo and desert tan. All this in a pack topping the scales at less than three pounds, and retailing for under $ 170, and is guaranteed for life! Maybe I should have bought two of them?
