The number of Danish people who use the Internet for personal banking has reportedly quadrupled over the past four years.
An estimated two million Danes now go online to check their balance, pay bills or invest money, reports the Danish broadcasting corporation DR.
The trend is thought to be contributing towards the demise of the bank cheque as a means of payment, with the number of transactions involving cheques falling from 124m in 1992 to 37m in 2003.
