Pan-Nordic financial group Nordea AB has reportedly advised its customers to protect their computers from potential hackers after the first ever Internet-bank theft in Denmark.
The bank has reportedly advised its 170,000 Internet-banking customers to install firewall software on their private computers to prevent hackers from gaining access to sensitive information.
Jens Bekke, information director of Nordea, said however that there was no reason for customers to feel nervous about the safety of Internet-banking services.
Nordea has issued an advisory on its web site with information on how to install firewall programs, reported the Danish news agency Ritzau.
