German Bank Upgrades GigaMux System
Communications Today, Feb 28, 2003
Metro and regional optical solutions manufacturer Sorrento Networks [Nasdaq NM: FIBR] said Germany's ING BHF-BANK is using its SideStreet Channel technology to implement a 8-node DWDM system on an existing SDH network. No financial details were disclosed.
ING BHF-BANK has been using Sorrento's GigaMux system for more than two years for disaster recovery and disk mirroring in a large GDPS environment. According to Sorrento, SideStreet Channel will enable the bank to increase bandwidth delivery only to sites that require it; other sites on the same metro ring are able to maintain their legacy architecture without system-wide upgrades.
