NOKIA landed a $165 million deal to supply Telefonica Celular with digital cellular telephones. Telefonica has 600,000 cellular lines on its digital network, which includes Rio de Janeiro. The telephones will be supplied from Manaus, Brazil, where Nokia and Gradiente Electronica built a factory together in 1998.
