VIRGINIA is opening a trade office in Brazil following a recent trade mission to South America organized by Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore. Brazil is the leading buyer of Virginia's goods in South America. Nearly 90% of all Brazilian auto parts bound for the United States go through the state of Virginia ports, while 75% of U.S.
auto parts bound for Brazil go through the state. The state also has a trade office in Mexico City.
