Viva la mate

Vegetarian Times,  May, 2004  by Akasha Richmond

While trying to keep up with a hectic catering schedule last January at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, I started drinking Aviva Yerba Mate. Yerba Mate gives me the energy I need without making me feel like I'm on a jittery caffeine high. Mate, South America's healthful alternative to coffee, is brewed from the leaves of a small tree native to Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.

Known as the "drink of the gods," it's full of vitamins A, B, C, E and other powerful antioxidants known to stimulate the immune system and fight against disease. Drink it to your health--it worked for me!
