AS YOUNGER BOOMERS, we were all about living in the present. We sang with the Grass Roots, "Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today" and scoffed at the meaningless preoccupations of the "establishment." John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to us while we're busy making other plans."
