After the holiday (February 19, 2003), the domestic low density polyethylene (LDPE) price went up for few days, then dropped slightly in mid-February, and was pushed up again by the increasing cost of raw materials at the end of February. At present the notional prices for Middle East are US$770/t (CFR China), Korean producers quote at US$780-800/t (CFR China). Market prices for LDPE film materials reached RMB7 500-7 700/t in Shandong, and RMB7 600-7 800/t in Jiangsu/Zhejiang, a rising of RMB200/t respectively.
