US-based Emerson Electric Corporation has signed a deal with joint venture Shanghai SECCO Petrochemicals Company to run a new major petrochemical plant to be built by SECCO in eastern China.

The joint venture is scheduled to go online in 2005 and is expected to be China's largest petrochemical facility.

Under the terms of the US$30 million deal, Emerson will provide engineering, integration and project management leadership for the new project and supply it with all instruments.
