Meta has agreed to purchase as much as $100 billion in AMD chips under a multiyear arrangement designed to supercharge its push toward what CEO Mark Zuckerberg calls “personal superintelligence.” The supply, spanning both GPUs and CPUs, would support roughly six gigawatts of data center power demand—an eye-catching figure that underscores how AI ambitions are increasingly constrained by infrastructure as much as by algorithms.
