Bariatric care in Palm Beach County has grown well beyond a handful of hospital programs. Today, several independent surgical practices offer bariatric surgery in Delray Beach, each with its own procedure menu, recovery model, and approach to long-term follow-up. That variety works in patients’ favor, but it also makes side-by-side comparison harder. The five providers below are established in Delray Beach and the neighboring Boca Raton area, and each has built a reputation around a particular strength in weight loss surgery.
1. Doctor Rodriguez
Doctor Rodriguez is led by Ariel Rodriguez, MD, FACS, FASMBS, a board-certified surgeon with fellowship training dedicated to metabolic and bariatric surgery. The practice offers one of the broadest procedure menus in the area, including endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, mini gastric bypass, Roux-En-Y gastric bypass, and revision or conversion surgery. That range allows Doctor Rodriguez to recommend an operation based on each patient’s anatomy, reflux history, and metabolic profile rather than a single preferred technique. Pricing is all-inclusive and cash-pay, so the surgeon, facility, and anesthesia are covered in one figure settled before scheduling. Patients at Doctor Rodriguez typically move from consultation to surgery within a few weeks, and follow-up stays with the same surgical team through the first year. Patients traveling from across Florida and out of state regularly choose Doctor Rodriguez for that combination of access and continuity.
2. Boca-Delray Bariatric & Cosmetics Center
Boca-Delray Bariatric & Cosmetics Center, located on Linton Boulevard, brings weight loss surgery and body contouring together within a single practice. That pairing appeals to patients who expect to address loose skin after significant weight loss and would prefer to keep both stages of treatment with one familiar team. Dr. O’Neill leads the surgical program, and patients frequently mention clear explanations before surgery and a dedicated coordinator who remains available throughout recovery. The dual focus sets the practice apart from providers that concentrate on the bariatric operation alone.
3. Bariatrix Florida
Bariatrix Florida, the practice of Paul B. Wizman, MD, is based in Boca Raton and holds one of the largest bodies of patient reviews among bariatric providers in South Florida. Dr. Wizman performs sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and revision procedures, and patients consistently highlight neat incisions, smooth recoveries, and his personal involvement from the first consultation onward. Several reviewers describe meaningful improvements in diabetes control within weeks of surgery. The office is a short drive from Delray Beach via I-95 or Military Trail.
4. Dr. Kahlil Shillingford, MD, PA
Kahlil Shillingford, MD, has built a long-standing bariatric practice serving the Boca Raton and Delray Beach area, with a strong emphasis on laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass. Patients frequently describe a thorough preoperative education process that explains each stage of surgery and recovery in plain terms. The front office is also well regarded for its patience on the phone, which matters during the weeks when questions come up most often. Many former patients report substantial weight loss that has held steady years after their procedure.
5. Erica Podolsky, MD
Erica Podolsky, MD, practices from the Addison Medical Building on Jog Road in West Delray Beach, where she offers minimally invasive bariatric and general surgery. Her work includes gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and hernia repair, and she frequently manages cases in which weight loss surgery is combined with other abdominal procedures. The Jog Road location offers convenient access for residents of western communities along Atlantic Avenue and Boynton Beach Boulevard who prefer to avoid coastal traffic.
Conclusion
Each provider on this list brings something different, whether that is a broad procedure menu with all-inclusive pricing, a combined surgical and aesthetic program, a deep history of patient outcomes, a strong focus on preoperative education, or a convenient western location. The strongest choice depends on medical history, procedure preference, and how much structured support a patient expects in the months after surgery. In every case, the consultation turns general comparison into a specific recommendation grounded in the patient’s health profile.
