Appointment of editor

Mental Health Nursing,  May 2000

Mental Health Nursing journal has appointed a new editor. Laurence Pollock (below) is an experienced freelance with a background in health, education and employment issues.

He has written for The Guardian, Times Education Supplement, People Management, Nursing Times and Health Matters, among others.

"As an active community health council member in Bedfordshire, I am aware of the issues which are surfacing around mental health at present," he said.

"The reform of the mental health act and political interest in compulsory treatment are key topics. I hope that Mental Health Nursing will carry forward the debate and stimulate CPNs' contribution to it.

"I am keen, working in conjunction with the editorial board, to improve access to the journal and encourage more people to consider writing, whether it is a refereed academic article, a debate piece, Speak up! or a book review."
