The throttle servo and receiver on -,RR the GT are susceptible to damage from side collisions. Install an aluminum guard and attach it to the radio mounts. This will protect the radio components.

REUSABLE ZIP-TIES

Don't throw out used zip-ties; reuse them. Take a small safety pin or any similar object with a sharp point, and insert it into the square. This will release the ratchet and allow the end to slide out.

CUSTOMIZED BATTERY CELLS

If your battery cell labels look worn, print new ones on glossy 2.75x1.61 -inch photo paper. Then use single-cell shrink-wrap to put the labels on the cells. Be creative with the design; I you can even make them match the body's paint job.

EASIER TC^sub 3^ WRENCHING

To replace the front A-arms and/or their mounts on a TC3, you must remove the bumper, which is held on with four screws. You can do this quickly by making this simple modification. Take off the bumper and slot the two rear screw holes on it. This way, when you replace the A-arms or their mounts, you'll have to remove only two screws. Then just loosen the remaining two screws and slide the bumper off.

DENTED PIPE REPAIR

To repair a dented pipe, take it off the car and fill it with water. Plug the holes, and place the pipe in the freezer overnight. The water will expand and push out the wall of the pipe.

When you remove the body from an 1/8-scale buggy, before the body clips disappear into benchtop oblivion, slide them onto the spoiler for safekeeping.

PORTABLE POWER

If you need to true tires at the track and AC power isn't available, you can use the battery from a cordless drill. It has enough power to true at least four sets of tires. The battery can also run a motor lathe.

QUICKER MICRO RSV WHEEL ASSEMBLY

To assemble the wheels for a Micro RS4 more quickly, use wing-saddle foam tape for RC airplanes instead of the kitsupplied foam squares. Measure the circumference of the wheel, cut the foam tape to that measurement, and put it on the wheel.

ON-HAND GLOW STARTER

To keep your glow starter readily accessible, mount it on your transmitter; many brands of starter even come with mounting clips. Use glue to attach the clip, or if you choose to use screws, make sure that they clear the internal electronics.

MINI AND MICRO KINGPIN REPLACEMENT

Many 1/24-scale and similar cars use a spring mounted on the kingpin for front suspension. If you lose the spring, you can temporarily replace it with one from a click pen. Just cut the spring to the required length and install it.
