Innovative ways to ditch diapers

Drug Store News,  Oct 10, 2005

Although recently released statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate that birth rates in the United States are at an all-time low, that doesn't seem to be affecting manufacturers' penchant for delivering news solutions to baby needs.

Parents concerned with transitioning baby from diapers to adult potties can take a few cues from the "No More Diapers" DVD from Con sumerVision. The DVD tracks the life of two children and their putting down of diapers and putting on of big-kid pants. The DVD also is packaged with award stickers designed for use with a potty-training chart available online. Also available at the Web site is a potty-training diploma that can be personalized.

Visionaire Products, maker of the Peter Potty flushable urinal, is honing its focus on potty-training needs of both baby and parents. The brand is launching a line extention of four products designed to reduce the anxiety and make more effective the transition from diapers to toilets. For example, the Peter Potty Deluxe Potty Seat has handles for stability, an integrated deflector for boys (that doesn't get in the way for girls) and a padded seat for comfort.

For its part, Procter & Gamble has brought over from Europe its Kandoo personal care line for kids, featuring Kandoo Flushable Wipes and Foaming Handsoap to encourage personal hygiene during the potty-training period.
