Forest Labs received FDA approval to market Benicar (olmesartan medoxomil), a new hypertension drug that is part of the growing angiostensin II receptor blocker, or ARB, class. Sankyo Pharma discovered and developed Benicar, and Forest will be a long-term co-promotion partner in the U.S. market. A June launch is expected.
