Canadian broadcasters in Manhattan

Performing Arts & Entertainment in Canada,  Autumn, 2002

From October 17 to February 2 New York's Museum of Television and Radio (www.mtr.org) presents a salute to the 50th anniversary of the CBC. Programming includes episodes from weekly drama series, documentaries, films and of course our particularly Canadian brand of satirical comedy. (Will Red Green spread the gospel according to duct tape?)

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Chretien recently named CTV and CBC television broadcaster Pamela Wallin as Consul General to New York City. During her time with CTV, Wallin was the first woman appointed to the position of Ottawa Bureau Chief for any Canadian television network. She also cohosted the national morning show Canada AM. Last fall she hosted a television special titled Canada Loves New York following the September 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
