The Picture of the Month for August, Jeep Hinge, was made by Joseph Hearst, of Danville, CA, who is also the Director of Picture of the Month. The judge, Tom Hady, APSA, PPSA, very kindly said that he chose it because "Those bright colors grab my eyes, and there's enough detail there to keep them busy so they just won't let go! I think this is an outstanding example of how a simple composition can be the most effective."
