On July 11, Anne Capelle, head of Handicap International's Mines Coordination Unit, presented a pile of anti-land mine petitions to Congressman Jim McGovern, Democrat of Massachusetts. Sponsored by the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the action was part of the People's Campaign for Nonviolence, a forty-day event that took place July 1 to August 9.
