Mean girl? No. Mean talent? You bet!

Interview,  August, 2004  by Frank Valdivia,  Jane Dykstra

Dear Interview,

I loved the interview you did with Lindsay Lohan (June 2004). Just you watch--that girl is going to be the biggest star in all of Hollywood. She has the looks, the talent, the personality, and the flair for doing showbiz right! Being a teen myself, I think she has a good head on her shoulders and knows what it's like to be a teenager and to put up with all the crap that goes along with it. Okay, I admit, I am in love with Lindsay! Who wouldn't be? You would be crazy to think she is not the most beautiful girl in the world. And if you don't, then shame on you!

FRANK VALDIVIA Colton, CA

Dear Interview,

I have to confess, I was a little taken back when my June issue arrived in the mailbox and I discovered teen star Lindsay Lohan staring out at me from your cover. I mean, the star of Freaky Friday on the cover of Interview? Then, within a matter of days, I caught Lohan's latest, Mean Girls, and saw her on Saturday Night Live, and it all began to make sense. Though Lohan may appeal primarily to a teen and preteen demographic, her recent sharp performances demon strate that she's far more than a modern-day Annette Funicello. She's funny and sexy and oddly captivating--a performer in every sense of the word. And as suggested by the regularity with which her comings, goings, and gallivantings have been reported by the tabloids of late, she's struck a chord with the public. I've got to hand it to you--you were way ahead of me on this one.

Dear Interview,

So let me get this straight: At 17, Lindsay Lohan is not only rich, famous, and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Colin Farrell, but she's got that body as well? There really is no justice in the world.
