Code 46
Interview, August, 2004 by Lewis Beale
REVIEW: CODE 46 (United Artists) Directed by Michael Winterbottom
In a not-too-distant future rife with human cloning, a private investigator (Tim Robbins) sleeps with a suspected criminal (Samantha Morton), only to discover she is a clone of one of his ancestors and he's therefore guilty of incest. Got it? Beautifully shot in ultramodern Shanghai locations, Winterbottom's dystopian fable regrettably relies more on style than substance.
