Bubblicious: like champagne, chewing gum, and a good bath, some of the best things in life are bubbly

Interview,  Oct, 2005  by Joseph Errico

Fashion has once again come full circle. For fall 2005 bubble skirts and round, Cristobal Balenciaga-inspired dresses were re-imagined in fresh new ways--creating this season's most exciting proportion. From the sexy balloon-skirted cocktail dresses of Calvin Klein and Alessandro Dell'Acqua to the voluminous tweed creations of Marc Jacobs and MaxMara (think Lacroix's famous pouf skirt meets a stick of TNT), bubbles were boiling up all over. In fact, this rage for round bubbled over onto shirt-sleeves and pant-legs at Boudicca and blew up coats and skirts at Louis Vuitton. And as anybody who has ever had a bubble wand will attest, bubbles are better in bulk.

Joseph Errico is Interview's market director.
