U.S. News & World Report had a happy little item on Alberto Gonzales
National Review, March 28, 2005
* U.S. News & World Report had a happy little item on Alberto Gonzales. He has "a refreshing approach to his new job as the nation's attorney general," the magazine said. "Rather than being the heavy known just for jailing bad guys, a role filled so well by former AG John Ashcroft, he wants to be the 'people's lawyer.'" Gee.
We rather like an AG who'll jail bad guys. We don't regard that as being "the heavy"--we regard that as . . . being the good guy (and "the people's lawyer"). The anti-Ashcroftians would really like it if Gonzales came to the podium with a topless gal on either side. Dare to be cool, Al!
