Chelate lead instead of drug therapy for hypertension

Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients,  Dec, 2004  by Hugh D. Riordan

Editor:

As usual, I very much enjoy and appreciate the Townsend Letter. In the August/September 2004 issue you had interesting disclaimers about exploring alternatives in the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease and angina. Since you mention hypertension, certainly the huge studies done by the CDC in the past showing a relationship between lead level and hypertension are worthy of note. Actually, getting the lead out of a lot of hypertensives make them normatensive, which lasts for a lifetime instead of taking medication for a lifetime.

Also, of course, magnesium and potassium are very important for blood pressure control, which has been mentioned in the past.

Anyway, before getting into conventional therapies it would seem worthwhile to explore, as you have done so well so often, alternative methods for improving health.
