New technology replaces tooth brushing and flossing - Brief Article

Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients,  June, 2002

Air Force, Inc. announces the launch of dental air force, the first and only product of its kind that replaces both tooth brushing and flossing. The brushless electrical appliance uses a precision jet of air, water and dental cleaner to power wash teeth, between teeth and along the gum line. You can use the system with hydrogen peroxide and get the added benefit of whitening your teeth.

Periodontal disease (around the tooth and below the gum) and tooth decay are the most prevalent diseases on earth. Both are caused by bacteria. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends brushing teeth twice a day and flossing once a day to control bacteria and plaque. According to an ADA survey, only 5% of adults floss daily. However, The Journal of Clinical Periodontology reported that within those 5% of people who do floss, only 18 - 35% of the plaque between their teeth is removed, dental air force combines daily teeth cleaning and flossing into one step and removes 62.5% more plaque between teeth than the leading power toothbrush.

Traditional tooth brushing causes toothbrush abrasion along the gum line and sensitivity to hot and cold. Used twice daily, dental air force literally blows plaque off teeth without causing ridges or destroying enamel. Some ingredients in toothpaste cause cheek, gum and tongue irritation. The dental air force cleaner is pure odor-eating, and neutralizing baking soda with natural mint flavoring.

"After testing the dental air force for two months and discussing it with my dentist, I am convinced that it is an effective alternative to brushing and flossing in establishing and maintaining oral health and white teeth," says Lyle Hurd, Editor of TotalHealth Magazine.

The new technology was developed by Dr. Piero, underwent clinical studies, tested by independent dentists and laboratories, and approved for marketing by the FDA. For more information or to purchase a dental air force system, call Dr. Piero at 616-399-8511 or visit www.dentalairforce.com
