Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, Jan, 2002
Editor:
My friend here just called me to have me pass on a home remedy which Bolivians still use here in cattle country Dr. Carlos Flores is married to a cattle rancher's daughter, and you can check it out for what it is worth, but cattle ranchers here in Bolivia put a pinch of powdered sulphur in drinking water, in milk, or sprinkle it on food, and do this constantly as long as there is any risk of anthrax.
Some elderly knowledgeable family practitioners there in USA may still be aware of this remedy and proper proportions. Or someone may just debunk it too. For what it is worth. For topical application, Dr. Flores suggested making a "cream" of say, 30 grams of vaseline to 6 of sulphur powder and stirring or mixing it thoroughly to apply to anthrax sores on the neck or elsewhere, should one get a case of skin anthrax. This is a home remedy that our forefathers likely knew about and it has largely been forgotten.
I, of course, am a simple missionary, not an MD. Dr. Flores trained in Houston Texas, and in Brazil, is a proctologist/surgeon. He asked me to do this as a favor to whomever.
