Tight squeeze

Girls' Life,  June, 2001

It's a full moon at the pool!

I was at the pool with my friends, and I squeezed into a baby inner tube. I tried to get it off, but it was stuck. It finally came off--along with my suit bottom. "It's a full moon tonight!" my friends yelled.

My crush came up to me at the skateboard park and asked if I know how to board. I didn't want to look stupid, so I said yes. He gave me his helmet and board, and sent me down the vertical ramp. I flew off the board and sprained my ankle.

I met Matt, who was 16, at the beach. I'm 13, but I lied and said I was 15. My dad asked Matt if he was going into eighth grade, too. Once Matt realized I was 13, I never saw him again. Thanks, Dad!

I was invited to a barbecue, and I knew my crush would be there. So I put on my new flares and a pink tank top. My chest looked too flat, so I stuffed my bra with tissue. When I went to hug my crush at the party, the tissues fell out.

My cute neighbor was outside washing his car, and I wanted him to see me. So I grabbed my scooter and hit the pavement, literally. I flew down my driveway and off the curb. When I landed, my knees hit the concrete hard! I limped up to my house, hoping he missed my huge accident.

I changed into my bathing suit at my BFF's pool party, leaving my clothes underneath a lawn chair. This geeky guy got a hold of my clothes and threw my training bra straight into the pool. The guys were throwing it all around. I finally got my bra back, but I left.

I saw my crush in line for the bumper cars at the fair, so I went to talk to him after the ride. He was laughing because it turns out I had been in a bumper car a kid threw up in. Barf was smeared all over my rear!

I had just finished hosing off after a day at the beach. I walked behind my dad and grabbed his hand. Except it wasn't my dad--it was this really hot guy. And he was with his girlfriend! He turned to her and said, "Looks like you've got some competition."

I was in my yard playing with some neighbors. My mom called me inside to do some chores, Afterward, I went outside and my little sis was reading my diary to everyone--even my crush. It was all about him!

We went fishing at camp, and I wanted to impress my cute counselor. I threw the fishing rod out into the water and pretended to catch a fish. As I reeled it in, I realized I actually had a fish on the other end--a very heavy one. I lost my balance and fell in the water with all my clothes on.

MUD MASK

I was on a hiking trip. We got lost and decided to spend the night in the woods and find our way back in the morning. My legs and arms were scratched from the bushes and trees. The next day, I decided to totally cover myself with clothes to avoid more scratches. Only one tiny spot of my neck was exposed. A bee stung me there, and a counselor rubbed mud all over my neck to lessen the pain. I had to walk around like that all day.
