Digital Ink - Barnesandnoble.com - Company Operations - Brief Article

Industry Standard, The,  Jan 15, 2001  by Alex Lash

> Barnesandnoble.com announced a digital publishing division that will pay authors 35 percent royalties on retail sales, the highest rate in the industry, and will sell e-books more cheaply than print versions. Mainstream publishers worried that the structure would undercut print sales. One of the first e-books Barnesandnoble.com plans to release is a new work from horror writer Dean Koontz.
