New Internet resource promotes living wills

AORN Journal,  June, 2005

The American Hospital Association (AHA) has launched an Internet resource that provides hospitals and consumers with helpful and easy-to-use information on advance directives and living wills, according to a May 2, 2005, news release from the AHA. The web site, http://www.putitinwriting.org, provides information in both English and Spanish and includes the AHA's question-and-answer brochure "Put It In Writing" and a wallet card that people can print and fill out. The wallet card will alert health care workers that the patient has filled out an advance directive, as well as provide an emergency contact name and telephone number. The web site also defines commonly used terms and includes links to advance directive forms for every state and to other useful sites.
