A Daybook for Nurse Leaders and Mentors

AORN Journal,  Sept, 2007  by Ellen O'Connor

A Daybook for Nurse Leaders and Mentors Sigma Theta Tau International 2006, 180 pages $19.95 softcover

This daybook has 365 pearls of wisdom, one for every day of the year, for building leadership qualities and enhancing mentoring capabilities. The "pearls" are from well-known nursing leaders and mentors who have learned from their past experiences and want to share them with readers.

The daybook is divided into months and individual days, with a different quote for each day. There is space under each quote where readers can write a personal note of their own. There also are extra pages at the end of each month for jotting down personal notes. The bibliography includes the references for each quote, giving readers the opportunity to look up the quote in full context. The index allows readers to look up a specific person and find the pages on which his or her quotes are located.

This daybook would make an excellent point of reference for all nurse leaders and mentors and be a welcome addition to a library. I would highly recommend this daybook to all nurses, nursing leaders, and mentors as a self-reference.

This book is available from Sigma Theta Tau International, 550 W North St, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
