New nursing radio talk show in the works

AORN Journal,  August, 2003

NurseDaily.com, a nursing Internet site, is creating the first Internet radio talk show devoted to nursing, according to a July 1, 2003, news release from the organization. The aim of this show is to provide a source for nurses in all disciplines to hear the show via computer (ie, webcast), talk to the host by telephone, and converse on a national basis. The show will air Live eight hours per day, 5 days per week. Shows will be repeated in a recorded format twice overnight and on weekends.

Each eight-hour broadcast will contain eight one-hour segments with each segment representing a different topic (eg, critical care nursing, RNs, nurse managers, nurse practitioners). Each hour will be hosted by a specialist in the field. The program is designed to be an informative, educational medium for nurses who want to learn how other nurses handle different stresses and situations, including maintaining good health and a positive mental attitude, according to the release. It is anticipated that hospitals, nursing associations, nurse employment agencies, and pharmaceutical companies will support the show. Link connections to listen to the show will be provided free from the web sites of the show's sponsors and supporters.

NurseDaily.com is Creating the First 24 Hr Internet Radio Talk Show Devoted to Nursing (news release, Las Vegas: NurseDaily.com, July 1, 2003).
