Blocked fallopian tubes can be opened without surgery

AORN Journal,  Jan, 2007

A new pelvic physical therapy treatment that feels similar to a deep massage can open totally blocked fallopian tubes, according to a Nov 2, 2006, news release from Clear Passage Therapies, Gainesville, Fla. Surgery traditionally has been the on[y option for women with blocked fallopian tubes.

Eight women with totally blocked fallopian tubes who also suffered from hydrosalpinx (ie, the blocked fallopian tubes are filled with a liquid that is toxic to embryos and interferes with successful in-vitro fertilization) underwent the pelvic physical therapy treatment. Half of the women had at least one tube opened by the therapy, as indicated by diagnostic tests or return of function; half of those with opened fallopian tubes became pregnant naturally and gave birth.
