Volunteer coordinator invites you to the 54th Congress in Orlando: Sunday, March 11, to Thursday, March 15, 2007

AORN Journal,  Jan, 2007  by Kevin J. Metzing

What took you so long to come back? It's been nine years since Orlando hosted the AORN Congress. And could the timing be any better? Why not attend Congress this year in the vacation capital of the universe at the end of winter?

This year, our Association members return to "The City Beautiful" where we will discover ways to "Promote Our Practice, Protect Our Patients, and Preserve Our Future." At the same time, why not make it a family vacation? Bring along the spouse and kids for the week. After everyone thaws out, you can enjoy sunny beaches, world-class golf courses, and first-class dining, and in case you hadn't heard, there also are a few theme parks in town. Come experience all that Universal Studios, Disney World, and Sea World have to offer.

AORN members from Florida will welcome you to the city and serve as volunteer Congress hosts. They will be available to answer questions, give you directions, recommend a shop or restaurant, and help you have a wonderful week. You can recognize members of the team by their bright pink golf shirts and white visors.

This is your opportunity to experience the best that AORN has to offer:

* Access to organization and health care leaders,

* Opportunities to have your voice heard and affect the profession,

* Resources that will enable you to promote workplace and patient safety, and

* Networking time with colleagues, industry associates, and friends.

Come refresh your body in our warm weather. Revitalize your spirit as you listen to inspirational speakers. Renew your dedication to quality patient care and perioperative nursing. So now tell me, who's coming to Orlando?
