AORN Board of Directors 1999-2000

AORN Journal,  Jan, 2000

The AORN Board of Directors governs the affairs of the Association. Board members are elected by the House of Delegates at Congress. The President and President-elect each serve one-year terms; all other Board of Directors members serve two-year terms. Elections are staggered so the Board is never completely composed of new members.

The Board meets after Congress each year and at least two other times during the year. Reports from the Board of Directors' meetings are prepared by the Secretary and submitted to the AORN Journal for publication.

At the 2000 Congress, delegates will elect a President-elect, a Vice President, a Secretary, three Board of Directors members, and three Nominating Committee members. Candidate profiles and election statements are published in this issue of the Journal.

At Congress, Board members will wear pale blue ribbons attached to their badges. Candidates will wear light green ribbons. The President's ribbon is black.

Photographs of the Board of Directors members accompany this article. The caption for each photograph identifies the person's elected office, his or her job title and location, and the year his or her term expires.
