Just An Urban Legend - cancer is not caused by using deodorants - Brief Article
Better Nutrition, July, 2001
Perhaps you've received an e-mail--a forward of a forward of a forward--warning that underarm antiperspirants or deodorants can cause breast cancer. It may be scary, but it's also not true, says the National Cancer Institute. Scientists there are unaware of any research that would support a link between the disease and the use of antiperspirants.
In addition, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration also does not have any research to support the theory. The original source of the misinformation is unclear, but those with questions should ask their doctor or call the Cancer Information Service at (800) 4-CANCER.
