Winners - notes

Better Nutrition,  June, 2003  by John Monahan

Sometimes the rewards of reading BN come in addition to better health.

I'm pleased to announce the winners of our "Kruise with Kat Contest." Gretchen McLlary of Fall City, Washington, and Sharon Ashmore of Charlotte, North Carolina, will accompany our natural health and beauty expert Kat James on her Total Transformation Cruise through the Caribbean.

Both women had correctly answered the four questions on the entry form when we drew their entries from the 4,000 we received. (The answers, by the way, were--in order of the questions--13; milk thistle; self-creation; and false.)

Two other BN readers also deserve mention. Each participated in our Jorge Cruise Weight-Loss Challenge. Mary Schreiber lost 25 pounds, while Estela Marroquin dropped 17 pounds in just three months. The two ladies are continuing Jorge's program, and looking forward to further success.

In this month's BN, we profile another wonderfully successful woman (p.36). Margaret Kelly, president of RE/MAX International, Inc., is a double-breast cancer survivor who hasn't allowed the disease to diminish her life--or her career. In fact, the lessons she's learned have made her a better manager, and helped her balance work and family.

Kelly--along with our multiple articles about finding comfort in uncertain times (p. 42)--speaks to courage and security. We know you, our readers, consider these qualities essential to the emotional well-being and personal validation that go into your own holistic health.
