Renaissance faires

Travel America,  May-June, 2004  by Pat Woods

Each spring and summer Renaissance festival grounds throughout the country come alive weekends with the clink of armor, thump of horse hooves, and delightful aroma of cinnamon and roasting turkey legs. Often located outside cities, the fairs offer discounts, enabling seniors to step into the 16th Century to experience dozens of costumed village characters, knights on horseback, damsels, fools, villains, and artisans.
