Indiana KOA

Travel America,  Nov-Dec, 2004  by Nancy Baren Miller

Those seeking KOA Kampgrounds find the Terre Haute KOA the only one on I-70 between Indianapolis and the Illinois border. The campground's 72 gravel, mostly wooded sites include fire rings and picnic tables; 37 sites have pull throughs and 16 include full hookups. The others have water and electric.

The office building contains a laundromat, game table with ping pong and pool table, and small store. For recreation, campers play horseshoes, basketball, and volleyball. Families enjoy the playground and seasonal pool. From April through September, this campground offers occasional planned activities such as ice cream socials and square dance weekends. Three Kamping Kabins are on site. Terre Haute KOA is open year-round. Rates for RV sites range between $24 and $35 for two persons. For information, call (800) 562-4179 or contact www.koa.com.
