"Inside@cnb" adds to the City National eLink(SM) umbrella of online financial services provided by California's premier business and private bank. City National eLink is a strong Internet enhancement to the Bank's successful relationship banking commitment to its clients that offers efficient, specialized, high-value products and outstanding services to its private and business banking and investment clients through the Internet.
"`Inside@cnb' is a comprehensive financial service that provides City National's most-valued clients with a new and exclusive one-source location for valuable financial, economic, industry and local information targeted to their specific interests," said Russell Goldsmith, chief executive officer and chairman of City National Bank.
"This is another example of doing something more for our clients to help them on `The way up,' delivering information and expertise -- through the Internet -- from which they might not otherwise benefit."
"Inside@cnb" provides a wealth of content and "business intelligence" to qualified City National clients. Once clients receive a user name and password, "inside@cnb" provides:
-- Customized news folders containing business news filtered
from more than 4,400 publications, targeted to their
individual industry;
-- Stock tracking, research and quote capability, provided
via Goinvest.com;
-- Market updates and commentary;
-- Foreign exchange commentary; and
-- Economic commentary and industry insight from bank
specialists, titled "cnbInsight."
"Our Internet strategy is to provide our clients with optimum convenience and a powerful point of access. We constantly use state-of-the-art technology to create Web-based solutions that are designed to advance a high-tech, high-touch experience for our clients," said Don Spano, senior vice president and eCommerce director for City National Bank.
"Clients continue to seek electronic delivery platforms that provide more choices, more personalized solutions and constant innovation."
"Inside@cnb" and other services provided through City National eLink continue to position City National Bank as the leader in its field. "We are aware of no other bank our size that currently offers this range of online services while at the same time maintaining its one-on-one personalized service," added Spano.
The City National eLink online network allows clients to simply "point and click" their way to perform online banking, online stock trading, portfolio review of trust accounts, and online retirement services functions.
"City National Bank will continue to utilize its superior in-house technologies and e-commerce solutions teams, identify state-of-the-art Internet programs and maintain our personal relationships with clients to enhance our delivery of services and products," Goldsmith said. "City National's goal is to remain as innovative and cutting edge as the clients we serve."
The City National eLink network debuted last November, initially with online banking and online retirement services functions:
-- Online Banking: Allows clients to view personal account
and loan balances in real time, obtain account transaction
history, process fund transfers, and perform online bill
payment. Customers can also manage this information by
exporting account details to personal financial management
software.
-- Retirement Accounts: Gives employees of companies that
have chosen City National for their employees' retirement
planning needs access to their 401(k) accounts through the
City National eLink "personal retirement" service. Once
clients log on, they can review their accounts, make
changes in their investment portfolios, review investment
prices and performance, request forms and more.
City National Bank plans to introduce other online banking services this year, including cash management services, international import and export letters of credit, and the ability to make foreign exchange payments electronically.
