A man suspected by police of playing a role in the Air India bombings has denied he had any involvement with the plot.
Prosecutors in the Air India trial claimed that Daljit Singh Sandhu collected airline tickets in Vancouver which were used to place suitcases containing bombs on aircraft in June 1985. However, the defence witness rejected the claims. Sandhu admitted that he knew the defendants Ripudaman Singh Malik and Ajaib Singh Bagri, but has denied assisting in any bomb plot.
Malik and Bagri are currently on trial for murder for the Air India bombings, which resulted in the deaths of 331 people.
