Horizon Air to install MedAire emergency medical kits on aircraft

Airline Industry Information,  Oct 24, 2002

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Horizon Air has reportedly selected MedAire to provide its aircraft fleet with emergency medical kits.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recently passed guidelines which specify that a US commercial aircraft of at least 7,500 pounds and carrying at least one flight attendant must be equipped with an automated external defibrillator (AED) and an emergency medical kit by 2004.

MedAire's emergency medical kit contains basic life support equipment, bandages, and non-prescription medicines that can be easily used by non-medical personnel to address cardiac, respiratory and diabetic emergencies.
