ALPA requests NMB assist in dispute with American Eagle

The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), representing pilots at American Eagle carriers, has reportedly asked the National Mediation Board (NMB) to intervene in the contract dispute between the pilots and airline management.
ALPA has asked the NMB to rule that an unresolved dispute exists between the union and airline management, thus allowing a federal mediator to be assigned and some provisions of the current contract to be renegotiated
The two parties are currently disputing over the airline's decision to transfer 14 Embraer 145 aircraft to another American Airlines feeder carrier which operators separately from the American Eagle group.
The pilots are claiming that the move breaks a contract formed with the airline in 1997, according to ALPA.
